New grants announced

Our latest grants have been approved by trustees. We are looking forward to working with seven organisations on new and continuing financial fairness projects:

Centre for Justice Innovation 
A strategic research and policy project to examine, and identify solutions for, the distress and hardship caused by court fines and fees imposed on people on low incomes.

Child Poverty Action Group
A project to identify the difficulties faced by claimants migrated onto Universal Credit from legacy benefits and share this with government to advocate for mitigations.

Citizens UK (Living Wage Foundation)
Scaling up the number of employers offering a Living Pension and building the case for employers to contribute above auto-enrolment rates.

Transform Justice
A campaign aiming to empower people with lived experience to advocate for reform to the criminal records disclosure system.

Quaker Social Action
To reduce funeral poverty by improving access to public health funerals and central government support for funerals and promoting moves towards funeral industry regulation. 

Resolution Foundation
To continue the strategic partnership between the Trust and the Resolution Foundation, building evidence on the size, nature and distribution of wealth with the objective of improving policy making, as well as understanding of the role of wealth in 21st century Britain, through rigorous analysis and engagement in policy debates.

University of Essex (CeMPA)
To maintain UKMOD – an open-source tax-benefit model – as a free resource, and support its transition to long-term sustainability by fostering use of the model by governmental and third sector organisations.
