Top ten

Our first funding round of 2021 closed back in February and saw nearly 50 applications. Today we are pleased to announce trustees have made ten new grants from that round, worth just under £900,000. We can’t wait for our new partners to get started on their exciting projects. Details of the new grants are below.

Fabian Society

To develop and secure support for UK-wide and Scotland-only improvements to income replacement policies, using learning from the pandemic.

Families Outside

Research, policy work and development of resources to reduce financial impacts for prisoners’ families.

Gingerbread

Research to understand the impact of job-loss on single parents and examine ways to help them back into sustainable employment.

High Pay Centre

Research on pay ratio disclosures detailing pay distribution at major UK employers; and reviewing stakeholder voice mechanisms in corporate governance structures.

New Economics Foundation

Designing a post furlough labour market policy addressing the twin challenges of levelling up and net zero, and related advocacy work.

University of Strathclyde, Fraser of Allander

Modelling work to develop an evidence base to inform the Scottish Government’s next Child Poverty Delivery Plan.

Centrepoint Soho

Research into vulnerable young people’s (aged 16-25) experiences of food insecurity, and to develop evidence-based policy solutions.

International Longevity Centre – UK

Research to better understand and highlight the challenges people with dementia face as consumers and identifying policy, practice and product solutions.

Institute for Fiscal Studies

Research and policy work on pensions taxation reform, through assessment of the distributional and incentive effects of practical options.

Nest Insight

Exploring opportunities for innovation and voluntary increases in employer contributions to pensions and other financial workplace benefits.
